BT81 Installation Instructions:
Ensure everything is safe
Verify Sling Stud is tight in stock (Optional: remove Sling Stud, place epoxy on threads, replace and tighten, and let cure according to epoxy instructions)
Check the BT81 fit to the stock by setting it over the front sling stud with the smooth face of the BT81 towards the front; verify if the rubber pads are contacting the stock. Add additional rubber material (not provided) if needed so the wings contact the stock
Remove BT81; with the buttstock on a solid surface, place the included 1/8 x 1/2” dowel pin into the sling stud hole
Carefully place BT81 back onto stock with smooth face towards front, lining the ends of dowel pin up with the .530 circular relief hole
Press the BT81 against stock and pull it down towards the buttstock. The dowel pin should engage the angular slot in the BT81 body
Tighten the installed dog tipped set screw with the included Hex wrench to snug the BT81 to the stock. Check tension often and make sure you do not over tighten. Once it is tight, there should be no movement between the BT81 and the stock
Verify the BT81 is tight before each use as settling might occur. Retighten again as described in #6
To remove the BT81, remove the set screw completely. Then with a soft blow, non-marring mallet, gently tap on the end closest to the buttstock, moving it towards the front
